BetterCacher was launched in 2009 by Lady Allista. The idea was to provide an easy way to find special geocaches. It started with a map listing all geocaches and a forum for description and discussion. Over time, more and more geocaches were listed in many different countries - to date there are over 2000.
Time passed and Lady Allista had to take care of her "real" job, which is why the platform threatened to go dormant. Jan Ole wrote a message to BetterCacher in mid-2018 and a takeover was agreed - BetterCacher could live on. The aging website has been revised and redesigned. Many new functions have been added since 2018. From search to merging forum and website in one place.
Today it's possible to import your geocaching.com finds, create lists (coming soon), easily suggest geocaches with photos, and more. And we continue to work on great ways to find special geocaches even better and to improve BetterCacher.
